99th Prog with Behala Blind School, Kolkata
We organised our 99th prog at Behala Blind School, Kolkata and for the first time with the blind students. Mrs Lisa Banerjee, Principal madam of the school requestedus to conduct an awareness program on menstrual health and hygiene to their girls, we accepted her request and gathered there on 22nd March 2025 for the program. Our Mentor Mr Rajib Dutta handed over one Bouquet to Principal madam. Our Secretary elaborated the reason behind such awareness prog and Principal madam also spoke the gathering and congratulated us for conducting such outreach prog.
Our gifts for the students were as follows :
a. 6 months’ sanitary napkins to each girl; b. 4 undergarments/inners to each girl; c. one bath soap and one pack of detergent to each girl; d. Drotin 40 tabs (10 nos) to each girl.
b. apart from above gifts, we also handed over one bath soap and one pack of detergent to every boy and girl other than senior girls.
c. light refreshments were also provided to all concerned including staff members of the School.
We were permitted two hours’ time and ended within the time frame given. While returning the Principal met with our lady members in Board Room and discussed various problem relating to menstrual health and hygiene faced by the blind students. However our beloved members asured her to look into the mater with all seriousness.
