93rd Prog jointly with Ashok Hall Group of Schools at Tongpara Adivasi Village, P.O. Kantatala, P.S. KLC, 743502

Once again after more than a year we have conducted an awareness program on menstrual health & hygiene among 100+ girls/women with Ashok Hall Group of Schools on 24th August 2024 at Tongpara Adivasi Village.

Before starting the program, the students and teachers of the schools visited the village road on foot and planted saplings to balance the ecological atmosphere for a better living.

We started the awareness program with Skit on the subject, played by the students of G D Birla Centre for Education, written by Ms Olivia Dey madam, which was received huge applause. Thereafter Ms Barnali Chatterjee madam from Mahadevi Birla Shisu Vihar and Ms Bhaswati Chakraborty madam from Ashok Hall H S School delivered useful speech on the issue and also on girls safety in detail. Some students also demonstrated through Karate tricks to instant save themselves from sudden attacks.

The Secretary of the organisation THE STRAIGHT TALK, also spoke and requested all the participants to be attentive to the interactive session by the students and reminded them that their presence should not only mean to receive gifts as learning is always better than receiving presents.

Thereafter the students and the teachers started their inter-active sessions on menstrual health and hygiene with the village participants and our member Ms Sangeeta Dutta also demonstrated some exercises for good health during periods.

Before concluding the program, the following gifts were handed over to all the participants :

6 MONTHS’ NAPKINS, 3 UNDERGARMENTS ,1 LARGE BATH SOAP, 1 PACKET OF DETERGENET POWDER , 1 LUNCH PACK AND A BOTTLE OF WATER. Apart from this one organisation named Little Gift Foundation also handed over fruit juice, tooth paste and body oil.

The program was nicely arranged by Mr Prosanta Pramanik of Tongpara Adivasi Kalyan Sangha.
