103rd Program at “EK TAKAR PATHSHALA” Deulbari, Kultali, Sundarban on 24.08.2025 with financial help from Kumar P.N.Roy Public Charitable Trust, Kolkata.
A successful program with longest journey from Tollygunge to Kultali, Sundarban, duration 14 hours where no tiredness could stop us, instead we gained a lot of joy and peace.
We started our journey at 6.45 in the morning, took our fellow members from different spots and at around 9.30 halted for breakfast and reached direct to the destination around 11.45 am. Students were waiting and their eyes were searching for us to reach. It was a proud moment indeed. Very small interactive session completed quickly and allowed them to leave with tiffin.
Immediately after the students left, 100 village girls both unmarried and married, entered the classroom. We started our awareness program on menstrual health and hygiene. Our experienced and lively lady members took charge of the room and started discussions on the issue. Our newly joined lady member Smt Riya Chakraborty, nicely described, why such awareness program is necessary at this hour in presence of other senior lady members. Our member Dr Pronab Dutta also discussed various points other than the program in question. He also consulted some patients and handed over one months’ free medicines to them and gave assurance to consult patients of this village free of cost, online once monthly.
Our gifts for them were i) sufficient sanitary napkins for six months ; ii) two undergarments each, iii) one packet surf and one bath soap; iv) small tiffin and water bottle for all. The left the venue with happiness and joy.
Last but not the least was that 50 mothers joined immediately after and we handed over saree for Durgapuja with tiffin and water bottle.
At 3.45 pm, we left for “Sundarban Pashchim Gabtala Shisu Shiksha Niketan” driving our bus for one hour, where 50 mothers were waiting to receive Saree for Durgapuja. Very quickly we delivered our mission/vision and handed over the gifts, and the mothers left the venue with happiness and joy and showered blessings on us from the core of their hearts. Immediately after completion of our activities, we started our journey for tollygunge and at 9.00 p.m. we reached home safely with joy and happiness of course.
We convey our gratitude to the Managing Trustee, Mr Benimadhab Roy and other trustee members of the Trust for giving us financial help and also to the heads of both the schools Mr Pulak Mondal and Ms Sahanur Sekh for giving us the opportunity to serve the poor.
