91st Prog at Tongpara Adivasi Village, P.O. Kantatola, P.S. KLC, Kolkata – 700150

This program we conducted on 3rd August 2024 at Tongpara Adivasi Village and it was a Self-help prog among village women. We presented 3 nos. new Sewing Machines along with three cloth thans, each of 24 meters, 3 big scissors, three tables, three boxes of cotton reels, three pcs of cotton cutters and a good amount of different types of needles.

The women of the particular village are so poor that they can not even earn anything of their own and depend on their husbands who are mainly farmers and fishermen. We adopted this concept of self help program (although we started this type of prog from last year) so that they can learn something and earn a living on their own.

On the day of presenting the machines we found tremendous enthusiasm among the women and earned a belief that they can do something and at least they have the courage to do.

We expect something better from them and we shall pay visit to their learning classes, as and when necessary.
